West Cork Literary Festival 2018
The West Cork Literary Festival takes place in Bantry from 13 – 20 July 2018. Workshops, readings, panel discussion, children’s events and more! Now an annual highlight in the Irish literary calendar, the West Cork Literary Festival is a week-long celebration of writing and reading for people of all ages.
From its humble beginnings as a series of casual poetry readings and fringe events around the West Cork Chamber Music Festival, it has expanded into a varied and extensive programme of readings, talks and week-long workshops, growing more adventurous and imaginative with each year.
We are delighted to bring the finest Irish and international literary figures to West Cork every July – making exceptional talent accessible to local, regional and national audiences.
The West Cork Literary Festival is run by West Cork Music, established in 1995, and has grown from a small voluntary organisation to a company which is dedicated to bringing the highest calibre of musical & literary experience to Ireland.
We also organise the West Cork Chamber Music and Masters of Tradition festivals, and educational activities as part of our Festivals. Our music-in-schools programme, Tuning Up, in partnership with Cork County Council, visits 50 schools throughout Cork county each year.
Our commitment to excellence and distinctive West Cork identity have secured us special place in the Irish cultural landscape.
