Marlene Enright

‘Little Things’  February 19, 2018

RTE Choice Music Prize nominated musician, Marlene Enright, opens 2018 with a new track, ‘Little Things’. A live favourite on her album tour, ‘Little Things’ is set for release February 19th and rounds off a spectacular twelve months for the Cork songwriter.

Taken from the critically acclaimed debut solo album, Placemats and Second Cuts, the track delves into the struggle to find one’s purpose and path in the humdrum of daily life; along the way realising that it’s the ‘little things’ that keep you awake at night. Enright expertly guides the listener along the by-roads of life and its spectrum of emotion in this groove heavy, alternative pop gem.

“The lyrical musings of Enright’s debut outing provide a solitary undercurrent that flows right underneath the surface of Placemats and Second Cuts. This is where the real strength of the record lies, in the songwriting and how the production, performances and Enright herself bring all these elements to the fore.” 9/10 The Last Mixed Tape

“Debut album full of badass swagger and grit from the Cork singer-songwriter who knows her onions when it comes to the ebb and flow of modern Americana. The more you dig into this, the more you realised Enright’s great gift for nailing a song’s natural push and pull.” – Jim Carroll, RTE Culture

“Brilliantly played and superbly produced…ambitious, free-flowing alternative pop songs…a seriously accomplished debut album” – **** The Irish Times

“One of Ireland’s most promising musicians” – Nialler9

“Hard to believe this is a debut Placemats and Second Cuts is perfectly produced with some very cool arrangements making it a fully rounded album” –
