The Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble is coming to Dublin! This last concert of their Irish tour will be shared with The Dublin Concert Band.

The Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble is comprised of 50 high school students from the greater Cincinnati area – Ohio, USA. This June these kids will be touring through Ireland, also touching base in Limerick (Limetree Theatre) and Cork (CIT School of Music). The concert at the Mahony Hall of the Helix will be the last concert of their 1 week tour through Ireland.

In partnership with the Music Education division, the College-Conservatory of Music Preparatory Department presents the only wind ensemble for high school students in the greater Cincinnati area. The Cincinnati Youth Wind Ensemble (CYWE) is for instrumental wind and percussion musicians in grades 9-12. The CYWE is a skill-enhancing and enriching experience that supplements but does not replace student’s experience in their own high school bands. The ensemble brings together students from diverse musical backgrounds to perform quality wind ensemble literature. The ensemble consists of 50 talented students from different area schools.

Joining the CYWE for this special concert is the Dublin Concert Band: Ireland’s premier Amateur Concert Band. Consistently over the last 60 years DCB has been unique amongst its peers in that it brings together a complete cross section of musical talent, youth and experience and enthusiasm and maturity.
