CORK’S LONG TABLE DINNER
Sunday June 24th 2018
As part of the Cork Midsummer Festival Outdoors on South Mall, Cork City
Welcome drinks at 4.30pm, dinner will be served at 5pm
High temperatures and sunshine are forecast for the weekend and that can only mean one thing… Cork’s third Long Table Dinner event, as part of Cork Midsummer Festival, is set to take over the city’s South Mall, this Sunday 24th June. Over 420 guests will enjoy an outdoor banquet as 10 independently run restaurants, and chefs, collaborate to showcase the city’s world-class food culture and seasonal produce, which capture the essence of the midsummer.
The ten participating restaurants who are busy prepping, tasting and testing this week include: Ali’s Kitchen, Dockland, House Café at Cork Opera House, Electric, The Farmgate Café, The Imperial Hotel, Isaac’s Restaurant, Jacob’s On The Mall, Nash 19, and The Oyster Tavern.
Cork’s Long Table Dinner celebrates the spirit unique to Cork – an essential experience for lovers of food and culture. Taking place outdoors, in the heart of the city, ticket holders will be treated to the very best produce available from the land and sea surrounding Cork. The chefs, and their experienced service teams, will be working together to deliver an evening that encapsulates the season, the local producers, and the culinary charm of Cork City.
Welcome drinks will be served at 4.30pm, followed by the dinner at 5pm. The theme this year is HATS – the more colourful the better!
Ahead of the main event the team behind Cork’s Long Table have opened their doors for ‘Walk the Long Table’, a brand new food trail stopping at each of the 10 participating restaurants. Explore behind the scenes in their premises in Cork city and sample some of the delicious local produce from the Menu of Cork’s Long Table 2018, with even a few glasses of bubbly thrown in too!
A handful of tickets are remaining for the trail on Wednesday June 20 (3pm), and Friday June 22 (3pm). Book at the Cork Midsummer Box Office of online at corkmidsummer.com
This collaboration is made possible with the support of Cork City Council, Fáilte Ireland and Bord Bia.
